HTC One Heating issues with Solution - Affects battery

After some initial hiccups, HTC One has made it's way to all the major countries. The very first users who could check out the ONE had noticed some heating issue. Though the issue is intermittent but seems like mos of the One users are experiencing over heating issue with HTC M7 devices. M7's predecessor - One X/ One XL are known for the heating issue as they had the Tegra processor which is infamous for producing too much heat.

The heating issue is prominent after playing games and browsing on LTE continuously. One of the main reasons behind the issue can be powerful quad core 1.7 Ghz processor. HTC One's processor is 28nm (28 nano meters) so it's very small compared to it's predecessor but still it does emits lot of heat. 

According to the users, the metal frame behind makes its more gets hot after playing few minutes of games and browsing. The metal frame at the back is made up of aluminium. Supposedly, The aluminium plate has been used as a heat sink and it gets warm.

Solution to avoid overheating

Go to the power saver mode and check the following 2 options.

1. CPU power - this mode consrves the power needed by CPU
2. Data connection - It disconnects the data when screen is off which saves lot of battery and will help you in cutting down the amount of heat.

Our reader John mentioned another point regarding the metal frame. Most of the people use Covers-case for HTC One and they won't really feel the heat. If the aluminium back is acting as a heat sink then it might affect  life of your device.

Another thing about HTC One is faster battery drop while device gets hotter but we are yet to confirm these issue. It's not recommended to use your phone while you charge it and the phone can rise upto the temperature of  40 Celsius with such usage.
